Bushwick Print Lab

Brooklyn. NY

Bushwick Print Lab (BPL) was founded in 2009 in Brooklyn, NY, as a community focused, artist-run screenprinting studio. We support artists, printers, and designers who are seeking a professional and well-equipped lab for all types of screenprint work. BPL is accessible to the larger community in NYC and offers affordable rates and an excellent environment for experimentation in printmaking.

We produce projects on paper, canvas, textiles, dimensional objects and custom materials for fine artists, graphic and fashion designers, print publishers, activist groups, not-for-profits, corporations, and museums. In addition to contract printing, BPL offers basic and advanced workshops, assisted printmaking collaborations, DIY studio rentals, screen processing, and film output services for clients.

Bushwick Print Lab founder, Ray Cross, has been part of the screenprinting community in New York since 2001. Ray holds a BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University and an MFA from Pratt Institute. His graphic designs, paintings, and works on paper have been included in group and solo shows locally and internationally. Ray was a co-founder of Ad Hoc Art Gallery (2006–2009) and Peripheral Media Projects (2003–2009) and has executed ‘live silkscreen’ events since 2004.

Bushwick Print Lab is home to talented printmakers who produce high quality work and is a hub for graphic activity in our creative neighborhood. We collaborate with local and visiting artists to publish screenprinted editions and curate and present shows of printmaking work.

Bushwick Print Lab will be showing these artists: Tony Sjoman, Seth Tobocman, Ad and Dru Deville, Ezra Li Eismont, Matt Siren, Natalya Balnova, Alex Heir, Jess Moller, Kati Lacker, Ray Cross, Jennifer Harris, and Rachel Sipser.
