CENTRAL BOOKING
Brooklyn, NY
CENTRAL BOOKING is a non-traditional gallery that focuses on the breadth of book art, while maintaining an exhibition program exploring the convergence of art and science. Artist and curator Maddy Rosenberg founded CENTRAL BOOKING in 2009 in Brooklyn as a vehicle for her curatorial practice.
CENTRAL BOOKING aims to explore what book art is in the contemporary world from the many perspectives of their artists. Some draw their inspiration from the personal, others deal with science and philosophical subject matter, still others mine social and political content.
Collaboration is at the core of CENTRAL BOOKING’s mission, working with artists worldwide as well as often initiating research-based projects with a variety of institutions, large and small, multi-disciplinary and interdisciplinary.
CENTRAL BOOKING, in addition, retains a strong virtual presence, highlighting programming, representing artists and web-based projects on their website and social media.
