
Isaiah Rivera

Isaiah was born in NYC, and lived most of his life in Yonkers, NY. He currently resides in Brooklyn. He graduated from SUNY Purchase College in 2021 with a BFA in Printmaking. Since 2019 he has made printmaking a primary gear in his life and practices the medium exclusively. Currently, he is the studio manager for painter and printmaker Robert Kipniss and works as a freelance printmaker in the NYC area, notably working with Robert Swainston and Zorawar Sidhu at Print of Darkness, LIC.

Process/Description: 20-layer screenprint hand printed using Speedball water-based acrylic inks, color mixing was not documented. Transparency layers were digitally drawn. Figure and title derived and inspired from the engraving Icarus, from The Four Disgracers (1588) by artist Hendrick Goltzius.
